Frequently Asked Questions

Get answers to the most common questions about our Family Enhancement Program

Yes, absolutely! Our Family Enhancement Program is 100% free with no hidden costs, registration fees, or future charges. We believe that financial barriers shouldn't prevent families from getting the support they need during such a difficult time.

This program is funded as part of our commitment to community support and family healing.

Not at all! Our sessions use Zoom, which is very user-friendly. You simply click the meeting link at 7:00 PM EST on Tuesdays, and you're in.

What you need: A computer, tablet, or smartphone with internet connection. That's it!

If you need technical help, you can call us at 1-(833) 313-7848 and we'll walk you through it.

That's completely okay! We understand that life happens, especially when you're dealing with family addiction issues.

Each session is designed to be valuable on its own, though attending regularly will give you the most benefit. You can join whenever you're able - there's no pressure or commitment required.

Sessions are recorded for registered participants, so you can catch up if you miss one.

Your privacy is our top priority. Here's how we protect you:

  • You can join with camera off and use a first name only
  • Sharing is always voluntary - never required
  • All participants agree to confidentiality
  • Sessions are facilitated by a professional counselor

Many families find tremendous relief in discovering they're not alone in their struggles.

Yes, absolutely! In fact, this is one of the most common situations families face.

Our program focuses on what you can control - your responses, boundaries, and self-care - regardless of your loved one's readiness to change. You'll learn:

โœ“ How to stop enabling while still showing love
โœ“ Strategies to encourage treatment when they're ready
โœ“ Ways to protect your own mental health
โœ“ How to create an environment that supports recovery

Our program addresses all types of addiction, including:

  • Alcohol addiction
  • Drug addiction (opioids, cocaine, marijuana, etc.)
  • Prescription drug addiction
  • Behavioral addictions (gambling, internet, shopping)

The family dynamics and recovery principles are very similar across all addiction types. You'll find the strategies and support relevant regardless of your specific situation.

Yes, we encourage family participation! Spouses, parents, siblings, and other close family members are all welcome.

Sometimes different family members are in different stages of understanding and acceptance. Having multiple perspectives can be really healing for everyone involved.

Just remember: Everyone should register individually so they receive program updates and materials.

Both are valuable, and they complement each other beautifully! Here's how they differ:

Our Program: Educational sessions led by a professional addiction counselor, focusing on practical tools, family dynamics, and recovery science.

Al-Anon: Peer support meetings following the 12-step program, focusing on spiritual growth and personal recovery from the effects of someone else's drinking/using.

Many families benefit from both. Debra, our facilitator, is actually a 10+ year Al-Anon member herself and often recommends it alongside our program.

This is an ongoing program that runs every Tuesday at 7:00 PM EST. There's no set end date because recovery is a journey, not a destination.

Some families attend for a few weeks to get the foundational knowledge, others participate for months as they navigate different challenges. You can attend as long as it's helpful for your family's situation.

Our commitment: As long as families need support, we'll keep the program running.

Emotions are completely normal and expected. Dealing with family addiction is one of the most difficult experiences anyone can face.

Debra is a trained crisis counselor and creates a safe, supportive environment. Many participants find that expressing their emotions in a supportive group setting is actually healing.

Remember: You're surrounded by others who truly understand what you're going through. There's no judgment here, only support and compassion.
